The Clausen Lab investigates mechanisms of DNA replication and DNA repair.
Currently, we investigate DNA replication by genome-wide mapping of ribonucleotides in DNA using HydEn-seq and determine the causes and consequences of ribonucleotide incorporation into DNA.
We aim to describe how mutations in specific genes, chemotherapeutic agents or environmental factors may lead to cancer or neurodegenerative diseases. We apply a systems-wide approach and use bacteria, yeast, human cell lines and patient derived cell lines.
We are located at Institute of Biomedicine, Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg.
